Après avoir tout bien rangé dans l’appartement, nous
partons à 9 h 10 pour Le Pirée qui n’est qu’à 10 km. Nous arrivons bien à
l’avance pour le ferry qui part à 11 h. Le bateau, un catamaran, part juste à
l’heure et atteint rapidement la vitesse de 35 nœuds (plus de 60 km/h). Il y a
beaucoup de vent (force 6 au moins) mais les vagues ne sont pas grandes, 1-1,5
m. Nous restons dehors tout le temps, il fait beau. Nous déjeunons du reste de
tourte aux épinards d’hier, puis Jens va chercher deux cappuccinos au café à
l’intérieur. Nous faisons un arrêt rapide à Serifos, quelques voitures et une
vingtaine de passagers descendent, et
continuons vers Sifnos où nous arrivons
à 13 45. Il fait beau mais le vent est fort ici aussi. Entre le port d’arrivée,
Kamares, et Vathi, où nous allons il n’y a qu’une dizaine de km. Le parking où
nous laissions la voiture auparavant est fermé et il faut la laisser à un autre
parking, 50 m de plus à marcher, ça va. Nous déchargeons la voiture en deux
voyage, disons bonjour à Dina, la propriétaire du studio et nous installons.
Nous saluons nos voisins, un couple de Français de Vannes. Nous prenons notre
« håndbrekk » sur la terrasse quand nous apercevons Anastasia avec
son fils de 2 ans, Niko. Anastasia est la fille de restaurateurs qui ont une
taverna sur la plage que nous aimons bien. Elle
est polyglotte et parle bien français. Nous parlons un peu ensemble et
prenons rendez-vous pour ce soir, à la taverna. Nous nous baignons et l’eau est
bonne, mais le vent est froid quand nous en sortons. Mais ce vent va baisser en
fin de semaine, que nos filles se rassurent, elles vont arriver samedi. Bon
diner à la taverna d’Anastasia, petit verre sur la terrasse chez nous et nous
nous couchons de bonne heure, heureux d’être à Sifnos et d’être bientôt en
famille.

After having everything tidy in the apartment, we
leave at 9:10 a.m. for Piraeus which is only 10 km away. We arrive well in
advance for the ferry which leaves at 11am. The boat, a catamaran, leaves just
on time and quickly reaches a speed of 35 knots (over 60 km/h). There is a lot
of wind (force 6 at least) but the waves are not big, 1-1.5 m. We stay outside
all the time, the weather is nice. We have lunch of leftover spinach pie from
yesterday, then Jens fetches two cappuccinos inside. We make a quick stop in
Serifos, a few cars and about twenty passengers get off, and continue towards
Sifnos where we arrive at 13 45. The weather is nice but the wind is strong
here too. Between the port of arrival, Kamares, and Vathi, where we are going,
there are only about ten km. The parking lot where we left the car before is
closed and we have to leave it at another parking lot, 50m more to walk, that's
OK. We unload the car in two trips, say hello to Dina, the owner of the studio
and settle in. We greet our neighbors, a French couple from Vannes. We are
taking our “håndbrekk” on the terrace when we see Anastasia with her 2 year old
son, Niko. Anastasia is the daughter of restaurateurs who have a taverna on the
beach that we like. She is multilingual and speaks French well. We talk a
little together and make an appointment for this evening, at the taverna. We go
for a swim and the water is good, but the wind is cold when we come out. But
this wind will drop at the end of the week, our girls can be reassured, they
will arrive on Saturday. Good dinner at Anastasia's taverna, a little drink on
the terrace at home and we go to bed early, happy to be in Sifnos and to be soon
with the family.
